What this site collects, and who else sees it.

I'm Aaron, and this is a one-person workshop in Omaha. This page covers what cajunpanda.com collects, why I need it, and who else touches it. It's short, because the site doesn't do much.

When you buy something

Checkout runs on Snipcart. Payment runs on PayPal. To build and ship an order I need your name, email, and shipping address. Card numbers never touch this site or any server I control. PayPal handles the money and tells me an order was paid.

When you ask about a special order

That form asks for your name, email, which console you have, what condition it's in, and what you want done to it. It arrives in my inbox as an email. Nothing else happens to it, and it doesn't go on any list.

When you ask to hear about a restock

I store your email address and which product you asked about. When that product is back, you get one email about it. That's the only thing it's used for. Ask me and I'll delete it.

When you just look around

Google Analytics records the ordinary things: which pages you read, roughly what part of the world you're in, what brought you here, what kind of device you're on. It uses cookies to do it.

If a visit turns into an order, the site also reports the order total and order number to Google Analytics and Google Ads. That's how I tell which ads are worth paying for. It isn't tied to your name or address.

There's also one cookie of my own, called cp_attr. The first time you land here it records where you came from: the referring site, any campaign tags on the link, and which page you arrived on. If you later buy something, that gets attached to the order so I know which posts and links actually bring people in. It holds no name, no email, and nothing that identifies you, and it is never sent anywhere except my own server. It expires after 90 days.

Who else sees it

Six companies, each doing one job:

• Snipcart Runs the cart and checkout.
• PayPal Processes payment. Card details go here, never to me.
• Google Analytics Tells me which pages get read.
• Google Ads Tells me which ads led to an order.
• Google Cloud Hosts the site and stores the restock list.
• Google Workspace Carries the email the forms send me.

I don't sell your information. I don't hand it to anyone outside that list. There's no ad network buying audience data off this site, and there's no newsletter.

How long I keep it

Order records stick around as long as I need them for taxes and warranty questions. Restock signups get deleted once the notice goes out, or sooner if you ask. Special order emails sit in my inbox like any other email. Analytics data expires on Google's own schedule.

What you can do about it

Email me and ask. I'll tell you what I have, send you a copy, or delete it. No form to fill out and no waiting period. You can also block cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on. Turning off analytics doesn't break the store.

Kids

This site sells soldering-iron territory hardware to adults. It isn't aimed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect anything from them.

If this changes

I'll change the date at the top. If it's a real change and not a typo fix, I'll say so on the journal.
